Forest Fun - Week 4

We had another lovely morning at Forest Fun.  We began at base camp singing our good morning song and then playing our Woodland traffic light game.  Zoe talked about green and dead wood and she showed us the difference and we heard the difference when Zoe broke the sticks in two!  We then went for a walk in the school woods; searching for Rainbow fairies that Zoe had hidden.   We also had to find dead sticks, remembering that they were to be no longer than our wrist to elbow.  We noticed that since last week the cows parsley and nettles had grown to be almost as tall as us!!!
When we returned to base camp we could make our fairies with clay or make shelters for our fairies with sticks.  We also had a rope swing, hammock, book area and tools to dig in the mud.  We eat our snack under the trees in the shade.  We enjoyed grapes, corn cakes and water.  Zoe brought fried stinging nettles and nettle tea which some of the children and most of the adults tried.

We finished our session at Forest Fun back at base camp with Zoe reading us 'The tree'.
