Babies

Today we are caring for our babies.  We were inspired by our Nativity play yesterday.

Forest School - Tuesday 27th November 2018

Forest School
This was our last week of Forest School for this term.  First we went on a walk around the big woodland and collected leaves to add on to our 'Journey Sticks'. Back at basecamp we used a tool to take the cores out of apples and make a feeder for the birds.  We also made ‘jingle bells’, rain painting (finding water on leaves and grass) and played under the tarp shelters. For snack we had hot chocolate which warmed us all up.  Zoe said ‘Wishing all the children many happy outdoor adventures, I’ve loved playing and exploring with them all’.
We would like to thank Zoe for her continued passion and enthusiasm for the outdoors, this was truly infectious.

Forest School - Tuesday 20th November 2018

It was very cold, wet and windy today. We wrapped up to go out. We sang our warm up song, then following on from last weeks owl focus Zoe brought in an owl pellet to show us, which we passed around the circle.
Zoe had built two little shelters that we could stay under to keep out of the rain - some of us did a wool weaving decoration under the shelter. We could dig for treasure, dissect owl pellets (discovering two tiny bones inside)
And use the bucket pulley system again. Lots of us enjoyed playing chasing games with Cheryl and Zoe in the rain to keep warm.
At circle time before lunch we talked with Emma about the weather and how cold it was today. What season it is and what is the next season. We named the clothes we should wear to keep us warm.
Once inside some of us explored a giant dried out sunflower head. We bashed it and picked the seeds out.

Forest School - Tuesday 13th November

Today we learnt about owls and played toowit toowoo, we made little stick people, explored gravity with a pulley system and teddy bear zip line, climbed trees, swung in the hammock, made clay faces on trees, dug for treasure, sawed some wood and tried out a blindfold rope trail in the woodland! we had a lot of fun!
