Funded Early Education

3 and 4 year-olds
All 3 and 4 year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of funded early education each week for 38 weeks of the year. Some providers may offer this over a longer period of time (the equivalent number of hours over the whole year).
Your child becomes eligible from 1 September, 1 January or 1 April following their 3rd birthday.

The funding is claimed through the setting at the beginning of each term.  In Suffolk you may claim the funding across two settings (up to 15 hours in total). Please contact us for further details about funding.

Please note that an additional services charge will be invoiced for all funded hours claimed.
  
2 year-olds
Some 2 year olds may be eligible for up to 15 hours of funding per week.  Families should be in receipt of a qualifying benefit which are listed below.  
If the child is subject to Child Protection, Child in Need plan or is a Looked After Child they are eligible, regardless of whether the family are in receipt of a qualifying benefit.
Your child becomes eligible from 1 September, 1 January or 1 April following their 2nd birthday.
To qualify the family must be in receipt of one or more of the following:
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an 
annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) that does not exceed 
£16,190
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Extra Working Tax Credit relating to a disability
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Working Tax Credit during the 4 week period immediately after their employment 
finishes or after they start to work less than 16 hours a week.
