Message from Debbie Lock our Fundraising Officer
Firstly let me introduce myself, my name is Debbie Lock and I'm the fundraising officer on the woodland Corner committee.
On 19th March we held our cake sale outside Kerridges butchers in Nayland. This is always very popular and we advise people to arrive early to avoid disappointment! We thank everyone who baked, and despite the early rain, we did sell and raised £185.
Then on Sunday 20th we held our first Easter Party. After lots of planning it was pure joy to see all the children enjoying themselves. We had a lucky dip, Easter bonnet making, glitter tattoos, guess the jelly bunnies (99 in total!), a very popular tombola (full with Easter eggs!) and the entertainer was a real hit. The highlight was the Easter Bonnet Parade, with some stunning creations on show!
After all that excitement they then enjoyed a good run around outside, as the sun had his Easter Bonnet on too!
We raised £266.26 and again thank you to all the committee, staff and parents that help at all the events, without you it wouldn't be possible.
So it just leaves me to say, enjoy the Easter break and please put in your diary our next event....

Cake Sale - 19th March 2016 Thank you to everyone who baked cakes for Woodland Corner.
Mother's Day Breakfast was a big success with our normal breakfast club children mixing with our Pre-School families. Maureen and Mel came in extra early to set up the tables and turn on the urn. We enjoyed a breakfast of croissant, pain au chocolat, pancakes, toast, strawberries and melon, washed down with fresh coffee, tea and fruit juice. One of our year 5 pupils said 'when is your Easter breakfast?'
At 8.30am the fourth duckling hatched and all the children and their parents/carers watched with bated breath! After breakfast, the children got to hold some of the older ducklings.
Breakfast and Afterschool club can be booked in advance or on an ad hoc basis from age 4. Prices are on the blog or ring on 01206 263054 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
It is coming up to the 20th March when we will be holding our new fund-raising event at Stoke By Nayland Village Hall. Tickets are available from the Woodland Corner Office and we are hoping that as many of our 2 – 9 year olds will join us at our inaugural Easter Party.
However, for the Easter Egg Tombola to take place, we do depend upon your generosity to provide Easter Eggs. We are always amazed at your overwhelming support for our fundraising events and are hoping that this will be no exception. Please bring your donations to Woodland Corner and place them in the nest (box) in the lobby.
Many thanks for your continued support.

The first duckling hatched at Story Time just after Mel read 'The Ugly Duckling' today. The children and staff were very excited and we quietly sang 'Happy Birthday' to the first one.
