Funshine Holiday Club Week 1
Children at Woodland Corner enjoyed lots of activities in the first week of Funshine Holiday Club . These included a river walk and picnic on Monday where we avoided some fierce looking cows with big horns but spent a lot of time admiring the pig and piglets at The Anchor. We then had a Treasure Hunt looking for clues around the grounds of Nayland Primary School. On Tuesday we did glass painting, had an obstacle race and made faces from vegetables.
On Wednesday we took the bus into Colchester and joined in some activities going on in Castle Park. Two of the chiildren were brave enough to get up and tell a joke in a childrens show and we saw a Punch and Judy show and those that wanted were able to have their faces painted. We went into Hollytrees Toy Museum and hunted for rats (not real ones) before going to the Natural History Museum where the children were very interested in a huge model of a stag beetle. We also spent time in the Castle Park playground. There were some very tired children coming home on the bus.
Thursday was cooking day and the results looked very delicious and later we went on a minibeast hunt and played giant snakes and ladders. On Friday the children made some very interesting clay models, made masks and took part in woodland activities.
We are all looking forward to our next week of Holiday Club which starts on the 23rd August. The Gallery has several photos from week 1 included for you to see!
